Potatoes

  • 🥔 500g peeled & thinly sliced potatoes (use a mandoline for uniform chips)
  • 🧊 Bowl of ice-cold water (for soaking)
  • 🫧 Light cooking spray (FryLight, olive oil spray, etc.)

Sour Cream & Onion Seasoning

  • 🧂 ½ tbsp salt
  • 🌿 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 🧄 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 🧅 2 tsp onion powder
  • 🍬 1 tsp monkfruit or stevia (or any sugar alternative)
  • 🥛 ½ tbsp buttermilk powder (the sour cream kick!)
  • 🌿 ½ tsp dried dill

👨‍🍳 How to Make It

🥣 Step 1: Prepare the Potatoes

  1. Peel and slice the potatoes ultra-thin using a mandoline slicer or sharp knife.
  2. Soak slices in ice water for 10 minutes—this helps remove starch and makes them crispier.
  3. Drain and pat dry thoroughly with paper towels.

🧂 Step 2: Season & Cook

  1. Combine all the seasoning ingredients in a small bowl.
  2. Lightly spray both sides of the dry potato slices with oil.
  3. Sprinkle the seasoning mix evenly over all the chips.
  4. Arrange in a single layer in your air fryer basket or on a baking tray (no overlapping).
  5. Cook at 200°C / 400°F:
    • Air fryer: 10–15 mins
    • Oven: 15–25 mins
      Flip halfway and spray again for extra crispiness!
  6. Let cool slightly for max crunch 🧡

Prepare Potatoes

    Cook at 200°C/400°F for 10–15 minutes in an air fryer or 15–25 minutes in the oven, flipping halfway and spraying more oil if needed.

    I love the idea, but what busy person is going to do this? It’s too tedious, when you can just buy a small bag at any store and limit yourself.

    293 kcal total, but 500gr of potato alone are already 430. Still good calories, 500kcal more or less for that amount is good, but not 293
