They work well as a homemade snack for sharing, movie night, or anyone who enjoys making seasoned chips from scratch. With a short prep time, they are also straightforward to fit into a weekend cooking session.
These sour cream and onion chips are crisp, savoury, and easy to customise for your preferred texture. Serve them fresh while they are still crunchy.

Thinner potato slices yield crispier chips.
Soaking in ice water helps reduce starch and improves texture.
Flip and spray halfway for even crispiness.
Use Carisma potatoes for even lower carbs, or sub with regular white potatoes.

Peel and thinly slice the potatoes using a mandoline or sharp knife.
Soak the slices in a bowl of ice-cold water for at least 10 minutes to remove excess starch.
Drain and pat dry thoroughly with paper towels.
In a small bowl, mix together all the seasoning ingredients.
Lightly spray both sides of the potato slices with oil.
Sprinkle the seasoning evenly over the potato slices.
Arrange the slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket or on a baking tray.
Cook at 200°C/400°F for 10–15 minutes in an air fryer or 15–25 minutes in the oven, flipping halfway and spraying more oil if needed.
Once golden and crispy, remove and let cool slightly before serving.

I liked the seasoning and crunch. It was a fun homemade snack project and the batch disappeared quickly.

What super potatoes do you have got that 500g potatoes with seasoning and cooking oil in a spray can ONLY contains 293 calories?!?!

I love the idea, but what busy person is going to do this? It’s too tedious, when you can just buy a small bag at any store and limit yourself.

293 kcal total, but 500gr of potato alone are already 430. Still good calories, 500kcal more or less for that amount is good, but not 293
