The sauce is built on garlic-infused olive oil, fiery gochujang, and chili flakes—balanced by sweet, juicy shrimp. It’s fast, flavour-packed, and perfect for a quick weeknight dinner that feels restaurant-level.

🍤 Why You’ll Love It

  • Quick & easy — ready in under 25 minutes.
  • Fiery but balanced — gochujang adds heat and umami depth.
  • Perfect for sharing — great with a cold drink or garlic bread on the side.

🧄 Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 500 g (1.1 lb) linguine, raw
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 6 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp Korean chili paste (gochujang)
  • 1 tsp chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 500 g (1.1 lb) shrimp, deveined and peeled
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper

🍳 Instructions

Cook the Pasta

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Cook linguine for 8–9 minutes or until al dente, slightly undercooking by 1 minute.
  3. Reserve 1 cup pasta water, then drain the rest.

Prepare the Sauce

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pan and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  2. Add gochujang, stirring until smooth and aromatic.
  3. Sprinkle chili flakes and black pepper, adjusting spice to your liking.

Add the Shrimp and Combine

  1. Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes until pink.
  2. Toss in the cooked linguine while shrimp is slightly underdone.
  3. Pour in a splash of pasta water and toss until sauce clings beautifully.
  4. Finish with extra chili flakes or chopped parsley.

💡 Tips & Tricks

  • Start cooking shrimp halfway through pasta boiling to keep them tender.
  • A bit of reserved pasta water helps emulsify and thicken the sauce.
  • For a subtle twist, add a squeeze of lemon before serving 🍋.
